Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Astro Starter (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit this website or contact us through it. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy, except where this policy notes that a provider acts as a controller in its own right. You can reach us at hello@example.com.
Information we collect
We collect personal information in two ways:
- Contact form. When you send us a message, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you provide it), and the contents of your message.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, automatically processes basic technical information, such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, in server logs as part of delivering and securing the website. The contact form also runs a bot-detection check (Cloudflare Turnstile) described under “Who we share it with” below.
This website does not use accounts, analytics, or advertising, and does not set cookies of its own.
Why we use your information
We use the information you submit through the contact form to respond to your inquiry and to communicate with you about the services you ask about. In practice that means answering your question or preparing the quote you asked for.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
How your information is stored
Contact form submissions are delivered to us by email. They are not stored in a database on this website. Related correspondence is kept in our email account.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We use service providers (processors) to operate the website:
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website and transmits contact form submissions to us by email.
- Cloudflare Turnstile runs a bot-detection check on our contact form. When you use the form, it processes technical signals about your device, such as IP address, TLS fingerprint, and browser information. Cloudflare acts as our processor for this check, and separately as an independent controller when it uses these signals to improve its own bot-detection systems. See Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Notice.
We may also disclose personal information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form submissions and related correspondence for up to two years after our last contact with you, after which they are deleted, unless a longer period is needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, or is required by law.
Your privacy rights
We do not meet the thresholds that make the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar US state privacy laws mandatory for a business of our size. Regardless, we extend the following to all US residents as a courtesy: you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will not discriminate against you for doing so. Contact us at hello@example.com. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
This website does not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.
Children’s privacy
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not currently set cookies or use analytics. Cloudflare Turnstile, used on the contact form, does not set cookies but does process technical signals about your device; see “Who we share it with” above. If we add cookies or analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the entire website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately to the risk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version. If we make material changes to how we handle personal information, we will post the revised policy on this page.
How to contact us
For any questions about this policy or your personal information, contact us at hello@example.com or through our contact page. See also our Terms of Use.
